I was a failure then

By Your perfect Law condemned

Worthless were all my works

In the face of Your holy Word

The cross says that You Lord are righteous

The Law is fulfilled in Your Son

The punishment borne by our Savior

Has won for us peace with our God

The curse that condemned us was broken

Our tatters replaced with white robes

This gracious gift frees us from all our sin

By what You did it is done

Your mercy has called my name

Oh what a sweet refrain

And Your mercies are new each day

Still I run to sin

Forgetting Your grace again

But Your Spirit speaks within

Just and the justifier

Of those who have faith in Jesus

Your blood is our ransom and plea

It is done, it is finished

We are forgiven

Jesus You’ve given us Your righteousness

You have all authority

You are ever with me

So I will tell of this Word
